With the ID. family, Volkswagen is looking ahead to an era of electromobility. For designers, this is a huge opportunity to establish something new and to significantly shape the future of the automobile. ID. design points the way to a zero-emission future. At the same time, it references the Volkswagen design DNA that was first seen in the Beetle and the T1 Microbus. Volkswagen design aims to be in touch with the people— for the people. Volkswagen’s four-wheel-drive, all-electric ID. BUZZ will feature a fully-automated driving mode. The new car is expected to launch in 2022.
