Road to Pebble Rally: Welcome to Car Week
Day 4 - The Tour Begins and Homologation Specials Conclude the Evening
Car Week is in the full of its action. The adventure commences at Porsche Hospitality, an enclave of cool cars and good vibes where the legacy of the brand is shown in colorful ways. The rally participants are presented with a showcase of the latest Porsche models, each an embodiment of precision engineering and timeless design mastered over 75 years of history.
From Porsche's Haus the journey takes a turn towards Casa Maserati. Here, the rally participants are treated to a feast of Italianness as we got the chance to be amongst the first people to see the all new the MCXtrema, the heiress to the throne of the MC12, based on the MC20. In addition to the top secret reveal, the group had the opportunity to get up close and personal with latest model of the Maserati range, on an elegantly fast test drive experience. These modern marvels evoke a sense of connection to the road, blending speed, style, and luxury in a symphony of automotive excellence.
As the day progresses, the rally participants and several members of the Museum gathered at the scenic Beach & Tennis Club at Pebble Beach for our traditional Thursday dinner. The theme for the evening is "Homologation Specials," a tribute to the cars that bridged the gap between racing and road-legal performance. The dinner event is a celebration of these rare and purpose-built vehicles, showcasing the innovation that emerged from the racing circuits and found its way onto the streets. The panelists—Aloisa Ruf, David Lillywhite, Patrick Long, xxx and xxx — entertained the audience with their insights into the world of automotive racing, engineering and collecting. Their stories, drawn from their experiences in the industry, provide a glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of creating and racing homologation specials. Their perspectives enrich the appreciation of these unique vehicles, highlighting the fusion of passion and precision that defines this rare breed.
