The Petersen's annual “Classic Cars and Your Estate Plan” luncheon will be held in the William Connor Penthouse and feature speakers from Whittier Trust, Brandon Adrian from Classic Car Capital, the Petersen, and family office attorney, Automotive Journalist and CF 200 member, Tim Lappen.

The event will follow the museum’s Breakfast club cruise-in and will highlight the benefits and restrictions around supporting non-profits 501c3 charities like the Petersen Foundation.

MEET THE SPEAKERS

ASHLEY FONTANETTA
Whittier Trust

Ashley is a Vice President in Whittier Trust’s Philanthropic Services department, providing philanthropic advisement to our high net worth clients and management services for their foundations and donor-advised funds. The Philanthropic Services team provides comprehensive consulting services for clients who wish to begin a formal process of charitable giving, enhance their existing philanthropy or explore new opportunities to increase philanthropic impact. Additionally, the team specializes in grants administration, foundation management and next generation/family legacy planning.

Ashley brings to Whittier Trust a background in both financial services and nonprofit management. Prior to joining Whittier Trust, Ashley worked at Merrill Lynch in Beverly Hills where she was responsible for advising wealth management strategies for her clients and their families. Prior to that, she spent several years as a director of a nonprofit organization serving chronically-ill youth in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

Ashley grew up in Claremont, CA. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California and has completed advanced studies at USC’s School of Social Work and The American College of Financial Services. Ashley has held the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses. She remains an active volunteer in the community, working with organizations that address homelessness, youth-mentorship and education.

BRANDON ADRIAN
Classic Car Capital

Mr. Adrian founded the specialty classic car lender in 2015 in Los Angeles, California. At Classic, Brandon helps his clients borrow against their collections using financing as an estate planning tool while also helping to plan and reduce taxable events. Mr. Adrian brings a lifelong experience in investment management/finance, estate planning, lending, and separately as a classic car collector and classic motorsports racing driver.

  • Formerly a Partner, Portfolio Manager, and Sr. Managing Director of a $6B investment management firm in Los Angeles. Previously held portfolio management positions at Merrill Lynch and BAM Asset Management. Brandon has previously been in the risk management, investment, and estate planning business for 20 years.

  • Consultant for Alfa Romeo, USA who helped their US team re-launch the Alfa Romeo brand back in the United States in 2015.

  • Gentleman classic race car driver and collector.

TIM LAPPEN
Family Office Attorney, Automotive Journalist and CF 200 member

Tim Lappen's practice, spanning more than 50 years, emphasizes representing clients as their outside general counsel in virtually any legal matter of importance to them, anywhere in the world. Tim’s work involves myriad family office matters, luxury homes, business, general residential and commercial real estate, entertainment, hospitality, intellectual property, tax, labor, litigation, land use, and more. He also represents entertainers, athletes, and others with regard to a variety of projects, including estate planning, pre-and post-nuptial agreements, philanthropic, and general business advice.

Tim is particularly well-known for his pioneering work with local, United States, and international family offices on such disparate projects as estate planning, purchase, and sale of residences, other real estate matters, litigation, labor law (especially household labor-related issues), and personal property acquisitions and dispositions (such as fine art, jewelry, other collectibles, yachts, aircraft, and particularly motor vehicles).

Tim is both the founder and chair of the Firm’s Family Office Group and the Firm’s Luxury Home Group. He has presented to audiences and also moderated innumerable panels, such as speaking for eight consecutive years at the Milken Institute Global Conference, at the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the USC Marshall Family Business Symposium, the Lido Consulting Annual Family Office Investment Symposium, including the Private Family Office Roundtable, and the Family Office Panel Discussion with David Cohen (Karlin Real Estate), David Nazarian (Nimes Capital) and Tony Pritzker (Pritzker Group). He has also presented on panels at Haute Living’s Annual Los Angeles Luxury Real Estate Summit with some of the top real estate agents in Southern California: “Power Players Under 40” and “$100 Million Producers”, many of whom are seen regularly on the television show Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. Tim also is an automotive journalist, writing for Haute Living, Haute Time, Haute Residence, Haute Auto and the Beverly Hills Courier.
