Group Tours
Founded in 1994 by magazine publisher Robert E. Petersen and his wife Margie, the Petersen Automotive Museum was then, and is today, driven by a primary mission; explore, educate, preserve and promote the legacy and culture of the automobile. With an ever-changing, ever-growing collection of more than 500 automobiles, the Petersen is constantly updating its 25 galleries to provide guests an experience with, and exposure to, automotive culture and history that is truly second to none. Spanning more than 120 years of automotive history, the collection features rarities such as a 1956 Jaguar XKSS owned not once but twice by legendary actor and race enthusiast Steve McQueen, the culturally iconic Back to the Future Delorean “Time Machine” and an era-defining artful “Round Door” Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 to name a few. Always something to discover; always something to see.

Private Tours: A Great Way to Explore
There are at least 100+ vehicles and artifacts on display at the Petersen on any given day (not including the VAULT). Taking a private tour has many advantages, not the least of which is learning about and seeing things you may not have otherwise, had you ventured on your own. Sure, you can do some research before your visit or make it a point to read every placard in sight but with a private tour, you’ll get all the essential information and more. It’s like visiting the museum with a close friend who just happens to be an expert. It’s not a lecture, but a conversation.
With a private tour, you can make the experience your own.
