SCHOOL AND YOUTH TOURS
Field trips are an important part of creating educational experiences that benefit students of all learning styles and abilities. Research has shown that field trips improve chances for academic success and help students develop skill sets, including critical thinking and problem-solving. Here at the Petersen Automotive Museum, your classroom curriculum will be enriched through our inquiry-based tours and our design-based activities that not only turn abstract concepts into real-world applications but also align with California curriculum standards. The automobile can serve as a tool for learning many concepts in history, social studies, art, and STEM-related fields.
Join our Museum Educators on a 75-minute interactive road trip around the museum to explore the history and science of the automobile. Our Educators will guide your students through fun STEAM-based activities to help facilitate learning. Our K-12 tours are designed to be customizable to best fit your classroom needs.
Guided and Self-guided tours can be scheduled Monday-Friday with time slots starting at 10:00 am to 11:15 am, and 11:45 am to 1:00 pm. Each onsite tour will include pre- and post-visit materials to be used in the classroom. Self-guided tours can be scheduled from 10 am-4 pm. There is no max time for a self-guided experience.
