SUMMER 2022 PROGRAMS

If you are a youth group, summer camp, or other, please zoom on over to us at the Petersen Automotive Museum for Summer STEAM fun!

We love to explore all aspects of the car from science to history to art. We have broken the car down into eight different themes that we will be exploring in-depth this summer. The guided tour experience will include an hour-long guided tour and a 15 minute guided activity that explore the theme of that week. Self-guided experiences will feature a themed scavenger hunt as well as exploration stations set up around the museum.

THEMES

  • June 13 to June 17: Design

  • June 20 to June 24: Force and Motion

  • June 27 to July 1: Los Angeles

  • July 4 to July 8: Motorsports

  • July 11 to July 15: Spy Week

  • July 18 to July 22: Pixar's Cars Week

  • July 25 to July 29: Time Travel (past, present, future automobiles)

  • August 1 to August 5: Car Careers

There is no limit to the number of themes you can participate in. Join us for one week and then come back later in the summer for another theme!

GUIDED SUMMER TOURS will be available starting June 13 to August 5th and run Monday through Friday. There are three time slots available: 10:00 am- 11:15 am; 11:30 am-12:45 pm; 2:15 pm-3:30 pm

SELF-GUIDED SUMMER TOURS are available starting June 13 to August 5th and run Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE PETERSEN THIS SUMMER?

Take a look at our Virtual Tour Program or our Outreach Program!

Virtual Tours allow us to come to you through your screens! Explore our previous and current exhibits through pre-recorded video tours facilitated by a museum educator. Virtual Tours are available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm and are usually around one hour long.

Or let us bring our programming to your location through our Outreach program! Our Education staff can bring a Petersen vehicle to discuss the science and history of transportation through interactive games, arts and crafts, and lively lectures. The program can be adapted for different ages, from youth-specific activities to booths at all-age community events.
