1993 HONDA CBR900RR
In the spring of 1992, Honda unveiled a motorcycle whose design would challenge conventional thought about sportbike design. Called the CBR900RR “FireBlade,” a direct translation of the Japanese word for “lightning,” the bike was considered to have a relatively unassuming construction and appearance. Yet, weighing a mere 457 pounds with a full tank of fuel, the CBR was 75 pounds lighter than the next lightest liter-class machine at the time, the Yamaha FZR1000. It would remain largely unchanged for the next eight years.
