You may recall that back in 2014, Swiss artist Fabian Oefner’s created a series of images capturing “a moment that never existed in real life.” What he did was create images that looked as though a sports car was exploding with all of its component parts frozen mid-air.

Inspired by those images, British model maker Amalgam Collection has created a photograph showing the more than 2,000 parts needed in the 5,000 hours of handiwork involved in creating one of the company’s amazing fine-art scale models.

The subject of the Amalgam image is a 1:8 scale model of the Ferrari 250 GTO, albeit showing only 840 of the 2,132 pieces required to build the model in the first place.

Amalgam produces scale-model vehicles in sizes from 1:18 to 1:4 scale, and with prices ranging from around $800 to as much as $32,000.
