2009 MCLAREN MP4-24

Driver Lewis Hamilton began his career with McLaren in 2007 and, a year later, in the livery shown as a tribute on this vehicle, drove the MP4-23 to his first World Drivers’ Championship title, becoming the youngest to do so in F1 history. For 2009 Hamilton returned to drive McLaren’s new MP4-24, which notably combined an internal combustion engine with an electric Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS). With Hamilton at the wheel, the MP4-24 became one of the first hybrid vehicles to win an F1 race.
