1966 Land Rover 109 Series IIA

Dormobile camper conversions were innovated by the Martin Walter Company of Folkestone, Kent, England. Most were built from 1958 through the mid-1970s, and were constructed on a variety of commercial chassis sold in the United Kingdom, including VW, BMC, Land Rover, Ford, and Toyota, transforming each vehicle into a practical and comfortable cross-country machine. In addition to a top that hinges upward at the side, this Dormobile features a sink, stove, wardrobe closet, and fold-out sleeping cots. Original owner Herbert S. Veltmen drove this modified vehicle directly from Land Rover in England to Africa for a big game hunting expedition.
